Over 3,500 students from 220 schools across the country have already reported for the national secondary schools ball games II championship taking place at Dr Obote College in Lira city. Winners from this eight day competition are expected to represent Uganda in Arusha this September. It’s a beehive of activities at Dr Obote College in Lira City where over 220 schools have reported for secondary schools national ball games II championship 2022. Ambience The week-long tournament is organized by Uganda Secondary School Sports Association in partnership with Stanbic Bank Uganda and the Ministry of Education and Sports. Mugisha says the tournament was organized for holidays to avoid interrupting normal learning. The Commissioner Physical Education and Sports, Rev. Can. Duncans Mugumya says the initiative is helping government to identify and develop professionals in sports. 3,900 students have reported to compete for honors in the nine disciplines which includes Basketball, Wood ball, Football, Netball, Dance sport among others.
