Join me as I step into our winter garden on this warm and sunny December day. On a beautiful day such as today, I definitely want to uncover my winter crops to provide them access to direct sunlight to help aid in their growth. I am also hoping to check on the status of my broccoli and cauliflower plants (these seem to be less tolerant of the cold) as well as harvest a head of cabbage or two if they are ready. Let’s see what we can find in the late winter garden! Spoiler alert, my broccoli isn’t looking great so I do decide it’s time to salvage what we can and go ahead and harvest our droopy broccoli greens. We will plan to sauté them up and enjoy them as if they were collards or kale. As a gardener, sometimes you need to think outside the box and be resourceful with how you utilize your produce.
