Arctic blast sweeps across Northeast US

Temperatures in the Northeast United States have dropped to minus 46 degrees Celsius caused by an Arctic blast. The majority of New York and all six New England states – which are home to 16 million people – are under wind chill warnings. Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency, activating warming centres around the state and closing schools because of the danger of hypothermia. The sub-zero temperatures have broken several weather records across the US.
