College dorm room sexual assault suspect turns himself in

A man turned himself in after he was accused of sexually assaulting a student at Belmont Abbey College. Police say that John Alexander, 38, entered dorm rooms at St. Michael's Dorm early Sunday morning and sexually assaulted a student. He left after the incident and the Belmont Abbey College Police Department Police initiated a search for him, later identifying him through a previous arrest in Mecklenburg County.
