DOOM: The Dark Ages - Ripatorium 2.0 - Sadistic Preset (Nightmare + NO HUD)

This is Ripatorium 2.0 with the Sadistic preset played on the City of Ry'uul. Played on the Nightmare difficulty. Most of the HUD has been disabled along with the daze outline, input displays, and most other settings. The only setting I kept was the daze circles because it is very difficult to time the moment an enemy is in their daze animation with the daze duration all the way down. I also kept resource values at the normal level because managing ammo in these early levels made the gameplay experience way too frustrating. I'm sure others can do it better, but enjoy this gameplay! Arena notes: My goodness this was tough as hell. I did this with the typical settings I run in the campaign, and this was not an easy run to get. One of the issues I ran into during my attempts was just running out of time to finish the waves. One of those attempts I was one swing of the Dreadmace away from killing the last Cyberdemon of the preset. That was a rough one to end on. With only five minutes to get through each wave, you have to play very proactively. The Acolytes were hands down the biggest point of trouble throughout these attempts, with the random spawn points, the arena can get overwhelming VERY FAST. I think most my attempts were ended from trying to track down the clone in a mess of Vagarys and Komoodos and Nightmare Imps. I tried very hard to complete this arena without the use of the BFC at the end but I always come up short and it's difficult enough to get to that round, so I just settled with using my only shot there. With projectile speed set to fastest and game speed at 150%, it is very difficult to avoid Cacodemon projectiles if you're not paying attention to where they are, and as you can see I make it a priority to deal with them as soon as the wave starts. Listening for the charge up for their projectile is a nice way to ensure you can catch the parry for Heaven Splitter. I also can't imagine trying to do this without Heaven Splitter, I'm sure it's possible but the stun is so helpful to give you some breathing room. Anyways, I intend to do a Ripatorium probably every other month, still focusing on studying but I'd like to hop on every now and then to keep my mechanics fresh.
