Self-isolation for those with Coronavirus symptoms ‘to be extended to 10 days’

The period of self-isolation for people who have symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 is being extended from seven to 10 days, effective from today, the UK’s chief medical officers have announced. The move brings the UK in line with the World Health Organisation’s recommendation of 10-day minimum isolation and with rules in many other countries including Australia, South Africa and Switzerland.
