The Confederate monument Fame, placed in the median of W. Innes Street in Salisbury, NC, in 1909, was removed on July 6, 2020. The monument had been declared a safety hazard by police. The United Daughters of the Confederacy reached an agreement with City Council to move Fame to the Old Lutheran Cemetery where there are several graves of Confederate soldiers.
