Anxiety | Doechii | Odissi Dance Cover | Igurukul Odissi Alumni Association
In honor of World Mental Health Day, Igurukul Odissi Alumni Association presents an Odissi dance cover of the song "Anxiety" by Doechii. This year, the World Health Organization is emphasizing the importance of Mental Health amidst humanitarian emergencies and urges all members of our communities to come together and create safe spaces for healing and recovery. Through our choreography, we explore the various ways anxiety manifests into our lives. We depict the moments when anxiety silences our thoughts, when we brush the panic attacks off and pretend everything is fine, when the anxiety spirals out of control, and finally when we gain the strength to fight back and rise up stronger. With this project, we hope to shed light on this topic and be supportive allies and advocates for mental health. ABOUT US: Igurukul Odissi Alumni Association (IGOAA) is an organization of alumni from Igurukul Odissi who stay in touch with the dance form, even after their Ranga Puja or Graduation. IGOAA gives alumni a platform to take initiative and nurture their passion for dance alongside their daily lives. Through pursuing next-generation projects, exploring unique themes, and organizing performances, IGOAA aims to keep in touch with our Indian roots and the foundations of Odissi, while also expanding our horizons to include contemporary topics and perspectives.
