RFA ENGADINE - Falklands Veteran

Returns to Devonport Naval Base from the Falklands War at the end of July, 1982. Onboard were personnel from 825 Naval Air Squadron which was formed at RNAS Culdrose for the Falklands War. 10 x Sea King HAS Mk2/2As from 706 Naval Air Squadron were converted to utility versions in just under 1 week with all ASW and radar equipment being stripped out prior to embarking. 8 of the aircraft sailed to the Falklands in the Atlantic Causeway and the remaining 2 with the QE2 in May 82, personnel from the squadron being split between the 3 vessels.
