'Tum Aur Main' by Vandana Bhasin | Read by Vineet KKN 'Panchhi'

Dosto, Hope you had a good Diwali and Bhai Dooj and are generally enjoying the festive season. All of us at ‘The Good Poetry Project’ and ‘Word of Mouth Media’ took a break this week…from work, I mean. 😊 After the lockdown opened, we have been working quite restlessly and this break was welcome. Both ‘Ambar’ Saab and I wished each other Diwali by saying – “Transcreation agle hafte karenge…aur Diwali Mubaarak”. Hahaha… That however does not mean, we should not get our weekly dose of Poetic Sunshine. Nahi? This week, it is my pleasure to introduce a contemporary poet to you- Vandana Bhasin. Vandana and I met recently at an all-women’s retreat in Rishikesh, which my sisters Sarika Panchhi and Archana Dutta run. I was invited to read poetry for the group on one of the evenings. Vandana was in the audience when someone mentioned that she writes too, and I invited her to read for us. I must say I was floored with what she read…’Main Aur Tum’, the poem you see now, was one of them. I believe everyone can write poetry, but it takes a heart that can ‘feel deeply’, to be able to write poetry that can move us. This poem, as Vandana told me, is what she wrote for someone she loves and cherishes. We hope you can see someone in her words too. Much Sunshine and Laughter to you, Vineet KKN ‘Panchhi’ Chief Curator @ The Good Poetry Project
