North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected key munitions factories, including a tactical missile production plant on August 11 and 12 amid rising tensions with South Korea and its ally US. He also ordered a “drastic” boost in the manufacturing of missiles, rocket-launcher shells & other weapons, as per state news agency KCNA. These inspections are the latest in a string of visits by Kim to defence facilities where he has emphasised on the need for mass production of weapons to ‘prepare for war’.
