Queen - Live in Detroit | Get Down, Make Love (November 18th, 1977)

Queen - Get Down, Make Love (Live in Detroit, Michigan, USA) [November 18, 1977] The News Of The World Tour from 1977-1978 is truly Queen at their best! With the excellent musicianship, some of Freddie's best vocals to date and a killer setlist, there's no doubt why so many Queen fans rank this tour as their all-time greatest! The rise of the punk-rock movement proved to be Queen's biggest threat yet, and they responded by playing their hearts out every night and cementing themselves as one of the top live acts in the world! Six dates into the US tour comes this Detroit concert which is the earliest NOTW show recording in circulation. Freddie in particular stands out tonight with songs from the new album being sung closer to the studio versions than almost every other live version! Because of how close Freddie's vocals are to the studio version on this particular track, it's undoubtedly the best version ever performed live (at least in Freddie's case). Those choruses aren't easy to replicate, but he makes it sound easy here. Compared to later versions of Get Down, Make Love into the early 80s, the instrumental section isn't nearly as developed as it would become which means it's considerably shorter (which may be a good thing to some). NOTE: This video does not come from the same night as the audio. They have been synced together to give us an idea of how the actual performance would have looked if it were professionally recorded. The visuals are from the Houston 1977 show (thanks to Chief Mouse for the awesome restoration) and the audio is from the best-sounding audience recording available. You are more than welcome to take these videos for personal use (in compliance with copyright laws), but if you do, please give credit as finding the best possible video & audio sources, syncing them together in-time and rendering takes a lot of time.
