Russia says its objectives in Ukraine have expanded beyond eastern Donbas region

Russia has said its objectives in Ukraine have widened beyond the eastern Donbas region. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned Moscow will expand its assault further, if the West supplies Kyiv with long-range weapons. Russian troops also appear to be stepping up air strikes on Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. At the same time, the White House has claimed the Kremlin is laying the groundwork to annex more parts of Ukraine -- just as it did with Crimea in 2014.
