Father arraigned for death of daughter in Sedamsville

SEDAMSVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) -- A judge orders a 35-year-old father held on half a million dollars bond Monday, after police say he fired a shot that killed his own daughter. Deandrea Kelley was arraigned Monday on a charge of reckless homicide.11-year-old Shanti Lanza was killed while standing inside her mother's home on Delhi Avenue Sunday morning. According to the family, Shanti's mother, Kristina Lanza, was having an argument with Kelley. That's when he fired shots into the air. One of those bullets went into the home, hitting Shanti.She was taken to children's hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Shanti was a fifth grade student at Riverside Academy.Kelley has a lengthy criminal history including three domestic violence charges against Kristina Lanza, the most recent was in 2007. If convicted of the reckless homicide charge, Kelley could face up to three years in prison. Investigators say he is suicidal.
