Bach's Minuet, which appeared on my YouTube channel today, is one of the parts of his French Suite No. 2 in C minor (BWV 813). It consists of 6 parts in the following sequence: Allemand, Courant, Sarabande, Aria, Minuet, Gigue. In the first half of the 18th century, the ancient suite became a common genre among composers, which included four obligatory dances: the solemn German Allemand, the rapid French Courant, the restrained Spanish Sarabande and the fast Gigue - the dance of English sailors. These dances were already considered ancient at that time, they were not danced, they existed only as certain genres of instrumental music. All parts of the suite were written in the same key. In most suites, other dances that were more popular at that time were inserted between the Sarabande and Gigue: Minuet, Gavotte, Bourret, Polonaise and others. Sometimes non-dance numbers were added to the suite: Aria, Rondo, Scherzo, as well as an introductory piece before the Allemand. – Prelude or Overture. Six "French" suites by J.S. Bach for piano were created by him between 1720 and 1725. Bach also has six "English" suites. The suites received such names after the composer's death. The Minuet from the French Suite N°2 in C minor (along with the Sarabande from this suite) was included in my 16th music album "Echo" the year before last. My concert premiere of this Minuet took place on 12/01/2020. In total, it was performed 13 times at my concerts. My front is musical. The main weapon is music. The motto is unchanged: WHILE THE SHELLS ARE RUNNING OUTSIDE THE WINDOW, I WILL RUN IN RESPONSE WITH BACH and other composers. We are one day closer to a peaceful life in our country.
