Tension Controlled Reinforced Concrete Beam
Cracks in reinforced concrete beams start at the extreme fiber in the tension side of the beam. The cracks extend up to slightly below the neutral axis. The more the beam bends, the higher the neutral axis moves. Above the neutral axis, the beam is under compression.
