Dark Souls 2 (PS3/PS4) Gamechive (Brightstone Cove Tseldora, Pt. 6/7: Duke's Dear Freja Boss) (NG)

"Brightstone Cove Tseldora (Part 6 of 7): The Duke's Dear Freja Boss (NG)"—Located in a cavern at the end of the area, this boss is a giant two-headed spider that attacks with a magic beam attack, acid lunges, and various melee attacks. Smaller spiders also join in the battle as well. The main strategy is to avoid the magic beam attack, and to time your attacks, and/or get up close and remain to its sides to avoid its swipes. Additionally, NPC Ashen Knight Boyd is available to provide assistance for this fight. You must be in "human" form for his summons sign to appear in the back left area of the cavern behind a pillar, opposite the fog gate. This gamechive contains two versions of the battle. The first is a solo fight, and the second battle is a partnership with NPC Ashen Knight Boyd. The Great Soul of Duke's Dear Freja is received for defeating this boss, and a Primordial Bonfire can be lit afterward. This soul can be traded with Weaponsmith Ornifex (in Brightstone Cove Tseldora) to obtain the Spider Fang and/or Spider's Silk weapons at the cost of 1,500 Souls. On NG+ and beyond, the Old Paledrake Soul is also received, which can be traded with Weaponsmith Ornifex (in Brightstone Cove Tseldora) to obtain the Moonlight Greatsword and/or with Straid of Olaphis (in the Lost Bastille) to obtain the Crystal Soul Spear magic.
