IPS TV |  "Courts have to decide cases under unseen social pressure" Baboo Sarfaraz Jatoi.

Baboo Sarfaraz Jatoi, was a lawyer in the Arti Chawla case. A 22-year-old privileged caste Hindu girl from Larkana Sindh, who converted to Islam and married a Muslim man of a similar age. A few months after her conversion, her sister Sonika Chawla, aged 20 also converted to Islam and married a Muslim (see her video statement of free-will:    • Sonika Chawla free will statement , seekin...   ). From Baboo Sarfaraz Jatoi’s perspective, irrespective of age, Hindu women undergo psychological pressures to convert and marry a Muslim. For him 25 should be the minimum age of marriage, and therefore, of conversion as well. He thinks that the accurate age can be determined only through medical examination as the other documents could be forged. This contradicts the opinion of other Hindu panchayat leaders who consider 20 years as the minimum age limit and consider the age entered in the primary school leaving certificate, or the school register as the conclusive evidence. They think that medical tests for the verification of age could be manipulated. Similarly, the assumption that in the court of law some unseen hands pressurize the Hindus is betrayed by the fact that Hindus are given freedom even to protest inside the court premises (see the video Hindus protesting inside the court to pressurize the court to give verdict in their favor    • Arti Chawla case: Hindu mob trying to hara...  .
