Today we are making black soap from the book Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. This is my own take on the recipe using ingredients the Owen’s aunts would’ve had around the house as well as incorporating my own practical magic. Thank you for watching! I am new to YouTube and looking forward to sharing more kitchen witchery and beautiful views from my home in Joshua Tree, California. Please share my videos to help the channel grow. The music in this video was performed and recorded by me. Melt and Pour Soap Base 2 tsp. Jojoba Oil 1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil 5 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil 3 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil 1 Tbs. Activated Charcoal + aprox 2-3 Tbs. Rubbing Alcohol to dilute 2 Tbs Espresso Grounds (used!) Dried Flowers of your choice (optional) Chop the melt and pour soap base into cubes with a bench scraper. If you are using a knife, be cautious because things will get slippery! Slowly melt the soap on the stove top or in a microwave until it is fully melted but never comes to a simmer. If melting in the microwave, stir every one minute, reducing to every 30 seconds to ensure soap never gets too hot. Add the skin oils and the essential oils to the soap. In a small bowl, mix activated charcoal with rubbing alcohol to dilute, then add it to the soap base. Stir well. Pour the soap halfway up the mold and let cool until a skin forms. Spray rubbing alcohol on the first layer of soap before adding additional soap to ensure that the layers will adhere. Mix coffee grounds into the remaining soap before pouring into the mold nearly to the top, but leaving a little room for the flower petals. Sprinkle flowers on top and gently press them in to embed them. Let the soap firm up for about one hour on the counter. Your soap is ready to use! You can purchase soap ingredients and molds through Amazon or any online soap company. I really like: https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com https://www.brambleberry.com/
