Dr. Vedavyasa Memorial Online Lecture Series - on 11th July 2020 at 7.30 pm Arunaprasna (Taittiriya Aranyaka) is a litany to Sun god found in the Taittiriya Aranyaka of Krishna Yajurveda. It contains thirty two passages in beautiful Vedic prose. It is melodious and effective when recited with Vedic accents. In the Indian Tradition, its viniyoga (employment) is several. It is employed for the purpose of parayana (mere recitation), for namaskara kriyA (for making prostrations to the Lord) and also for performing homa (ritual) In order to appease and win the grace of this paramatma. Dr. CL Prabhakar ji will talk Seers and their Contirbutions to Arunaprasna. Dr. C. L. Prabhakar is a Vedic scholar. He hails from Bangalore. He obtained his Masters Degree in Sanskrit from Dharwad University and Ph.D. for his thesis on ‘Sukla Yajur Veda’ from Poona University. He has over thirty years of teaching experience as a Professor and has published more than 300 research papers. He has also authored three books: Sukla Yajur Veda (Vol. I to IV), Tapo Anustana Manjari: A compendium of Vedic Mantras for Daily Worship & Soundarya Lahari Prayoga Yoga: A Manual. He is also the Chief Editor of the monthly bulletin “Veda Nada Sarit” and the Annual Journal “Veda Ganga”, all published by the Veda Sruti Publications. He has served as Faculty and Head of the Sanskrit Department, National College. He is now an Adjunct Professor of Vedas at Hindu University, USA. As the Director of Nada Veda Adhyayana Kendra and President of Bangalore chapter of WAVES (USA), he is actively engaged in spreading the message of the Vedas to communities in India and USA. About Our Master - Dr. Vedavyas, IAS, PhD, DLitt Dr. Vedavyas comes from a family of traditional Vedic Scholars for seven generations. He received early Initiation into Vedas, Yoga, Astronomy (Jyotisha) and Sanskrit and holds a Master’s Degree in Zoology with specialization in Marine Biology. He was the Professor in Zoology in the Loyola College until he was selected into the prestigious “Indian Administrative Service” (IAS) by All India competition in 1959. Working as a Senior Govt. Official he worked on “Astronomical Dating of Mahabharatha War” as a Thesis for his Ph.D. in Sanskrit. He was on a Lecture Tour of U.S.A in 1985 speaking at The United Nations also at Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles besides major Universities in U.S.A. on the “Lost Verses of Bhagawad Gita” which he discovered besides the rare find of the “Copper Plate Grant of King Janamejaya” of Mahabharata times dating to 3065 B.C. Dr. Vedavyas is a rare discoverer and Author who had published 100+ books in Vedas, Yoga, Astronomy, Hindu Religion and his Masterpiece entitled – “Hinduism in the Space Age” with a Foreword by Dr. Karan Singh a minister under Mrs. Indira Gandhi former Prime Minister of India. . International Institute of Vedic Sciences. (A future University of Vedic Sciences) The Rishis of Himalayas meditated deeply on ‘Supreme Secret” of creation the Origin of Creation, the birth of Man and aim of Human life. Their Vision illuminated by God, revealed to them the Supreme Message of God to Man. They called this ‘VEDA’ the Eternal Knowledge. This was transmitted to all humans by the selfless efforts of the Sages Seers and Rishis. This is called “Sanathana Dharma” or Eternal Wisdom, which is Timeless! This gave the world “HINDUISM” in course of centuries. Slowly, all the other Religions were born – Zorastrianism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam etc., which soon spared rapidly all over the world. Nowhere in India or the world do we have a University or college for teaching Vedic Hinduism in a scientific way, to our younger generation.
