Geralt got captured by Ofieri soldiers who wanted to bring him to their king for execution. Sitting locked on the Ofieri ship, Geralt met again with the mysterious individual, Gaunter O'Dimm, who introduced himself to Geralt back in White Orchard as Master Mirror. Geralt wished to be free and O'Dimm granted, but he also left a mark on Geralt's face as a reminder about their pact.
