Vaccines can Prevent Oral Cancer

Doctor Geoffrey Young, Chief of Head & Neck Surgery at the Miami Cancer Institute considers the vaccine for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is the best way to prevent an oral cancer, because this type of disease could be prevented with a vaccinated child. The doctor explains there is a lot of controversy about the vaccine, the biggest being that HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. But he reflects, the most important thing to remember is that this a cancer preventive vaccine and this sexually transmitted virus causes cancer not only cervical, but cancer of the back of the throat which have actually surpassed cervical cancer in incidence.
