In his private life, the college graduate works as a scientist in a laboratory; in his role as the superhero Spider-Man, he fights supervillains, such as the crime boss Wilson Fisk, who wreaks havoc under the name Kingpin. Another storyline involves the confrontation with a whole host of supervillains, such as Rhino, Electro, and Scorpion, who have joined forces to form a supervillain alliance. The villain Mister Negative, who wants to establish himself as the city's new crime lord with his gang called "Inner Demons," also appears as an antagonist. He and his gang, the "Inner Demons," also face off against Taskmaster, who has hidden bombs throughout the city that the player is tasked with defusing. This is one of numerous side quests that the player can optionally complete. The storyline, conceived specifically for the game and not based on already familiar stories from the comics and films, will also address Peter Parker's private life and allow interaction with characters such as Aunt May and Mary Jane Watson.
