Upma (South Indian names: Uppittu, Uppumavu, Uppindi) is a one of the most popular, easy and quick South Indian breakfast recipes usually made with Sooji (Semolina), veggies, spice and herbs. Though it is seen mostly in South India but nowadays it can be seen just as much everywhere in the country. This traditional south Indian savoury recipe can be prepared in less than 20 minutes and is a very tasty and healthy option especially for newbies or bachelors. Like any other Indian recipes, Upma also can be made with a lot of variety in contents and cooking style. There are numerous variations in Upma and all would be certainly worth trying.
