There are preserves all around the area and you are not allowed to keep any animals from them as a pet so don't try to take anything from them. This was our first Regal Horned Lizard and we noticed that it was just minutes after the sun stopped shinning directly on the soil is when all the horned lizards of all species started coming out and after a few minutes we saw about 9 of them in about 30 min but 7 of them were the size of dimes lol but we would consider this a very fun and successful adventure. These guys love to eat ants but I have only seen them do it in cages but like most lizards if it fits in there mouth they will try to eat it.
