How To Make A Painted Buttercream Cake - Fall Foliage Edition | CHELSWEETS

This Bob Ross-inspired cakes is one of my favorites to date!!! I literally used a painting of Bob Ross' as inspiration, and tried my had at "painting" a cake for the first time with frosting! It took me a bit to really get the hang of the technique and feel comfortable, but it was much easier than I thought it'd be! By building layers on top of layers, the design was very forgiving. I used my classic American buttercream recipe to decorate this cake, and added americolor gel food coloring to get these vibrant fall shades of frosting. Here's the link to the palette knives I used to "paint" this cake: https://amzn.to/2R2DExA To learn how to make my layer cake recipe, you can watch:    • How to Make The Best Vanilla Cake Batter f...   You can see the tutorial for my american buttercream here:    • How to Make Smooth Frosting for a Cake | C...   To see the full tutorial on how to frost a cake with perfectly smooth sides here:    • How to Smooth Frosting on a Cake I CHELSWEETS   If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more, be sure to click the like and subscribe button!
