UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.RAVENA -- No one was seriously injured at a chain-reaction crash involving a school bus Monday morning.It happened around 7 a.m. on Route 143 near Vanderzee Road.Coeymans Police say the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school bus was stopped in front of 898 State Route 143 to pick up RCS High School and Middle School students when it was hit from behind by 17-year-old Jenica Lynn Stott of Coeymans Hollow. Police say the bus driver had activated its red lights and stop sign. The car immediatly behind Stott, driven by Jay Perrote of Coeymans Hollow, was able to stop in time, but the car behind him, driven by Amber Hirsch of Coeymans Hollow, rear-ended him, slamming all three cars together.The three cars were totaled. The bus had only minor rear-end damage. Coeymans Police Chief Gregory Darlington said, "This accident once again shows that school buses are designed to protect our children. While all three passenger vehicles were severely damaged, neither the bus nor the students on it sustained any significant damage or injury."One person inside Perrote's car suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.Police believe the glare of the sun was a factor in the crash.
