Crash Kills Two in Dayton Over Weekend, Driver Possibly Ran

DAYTON -- The Dayton Police Department is investigating a double fatal crash over the weekend on Gettysburg Avenue. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office said Deontay Cochran, 24, and Anthony Graham Junior, 24, were both killed in the crash. A police investigation report reveals that the driver of the car with Cochran and Graham failed to stop at a red light and hit a vehicle going northbound on Gettysburg Avenue. Police have not released the name of the driver who ran the red light, but he could possibly face charges later. We are told he was taken to the hospital, but his condition is not known. Both of the victims in the crash are familiar to police. In 2012, we sat down exclusively with Cochran after police accused him of shooting a Trotwood detective. He was also shot. On April 28, 2012 Cochran told us, "I'm not operating the same way no more," after the incident. His mother also spoke with us in 2012 about how her son was recently baptized before the shooting accusations. "You know, I'm a good kid for real, you can't judge a book by its cover," said Cochran in 2012. A relative of Graham tells us that the two victims and driver of the car were lifelong friends. Funeral arrangements have not been made public. A police report says possible charges for the driver include two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault. Police are trying to figure out what led up to the crash, if you have any information you can call Traffic Services Unit at 937-333-1359.
