NEW BLUE PASSPORT LAUNCHING IN MARCH 2020 #brexit #borisjohnson #britishpassport2020 Restyle demonstrates as conflict-ridden as European Union referendum, with one ex Minister of Parliament describing it ‘ignorant’. The United Kingdom government announced that Blue passports will be relaunched for the first time in roughly 30 years from March 2020 to indicate Britain’s exit from the European Union. Blue Passports will take place of the standard-issue burgundy passports that were issued across European Union countries from the year 1988. Priti Patel, United Kingdom home secretary, greeted the blue passport, but pro-European supporters and nationalist politicians in Northern Ireland projected the new passports would end in British Nationals going in the slow lane at airports and ports all over European Union. The Home Office states that the blue passport will be “the greenest British passport yet”. A spokesperson mentioned that: “The carbon footprint generated through production will be condensed to net zero, through projects such as planting trees.” It is also endorsing the passport as the most technologically advanced. The Home Office representative said there was “a bundle of new and modernised security aspects, including a durable, super-strength polycarbonate information page, which comprises advance technologies implanted into the document, to keep personal data protected”. Furthermore the Home Office spokesperson stated that the new-look passport includes the modern and greatest protected printing and design methods, which will provide better security against identity theft and scams. Priti Patel stated that “Departing from the European Union provided us an exclusive opportunity to re-establish our national identity and build a new path in the domain. By going back to the iconic blue and gold design, the British passport will once more be interlinked with our national identity and I cannot hang on to travel on one.” European Movement did not share the same passion as Priti Patel’s. Edward McMillan-Scott, the alliance’s patron and an MEP for 30 years, stated the blue passport would be viewed as nasty to many European Nationals. He further mentioned that “It will be viewed as a sign of the arrogance existing in the Conservative party in the direction of the rest of Europe that is unexperienced, isolationist, and self- injurious”.
