GP Replicas VS Minichamps! III - 1997 Ferrari F310B Michael Schumacher - Canadian GP winner - 1/18

Welcome to Part 3! GP Replicas VS Minichamps! The 1997 Ferrari F310B is one of my favourite F1 cars of all time. I had just started getting into F1 around this time. Michael drove amazing this season. And the 1997 season was one of the best of all time and all the cars looked great! The last year of slicks and wider chassis. More simplier times. The 1990s we peaked as humans. The Minichamps 1/18 Diecast was released in 1998. Its a bit outdated and Minichamps in later years improved with their quality and detail. The GP Replicas 1/18 Resin model was released December 2024 with a driver figure. Its not perfect but one of their better models, if that means much? Negatives of the GP Replicas model: 1) Wheel & tyre size too small like 1/20 scale 2) Carbon Fibre weave pattern too prominent like a lizard or snake skin 3) Goodyear tyre branding markings on sidewalls too large and wrong font 4) Above mounted at top so had to twist wheels around 5) Driver figure far too skinny like he hadn't eaten for 10 months yet helmet size correct 6) BBS wheel pattern incorrect 7) Price point again €220/250 for a model with a lot of flaws Postives: 1) Helmet design, shape & detail is good 2) Overall size of model & wheelbase accurate 3) Photo-etched parts fitted 4) Gap for seperate winglets for Wings 5) Decals easy to install
