SOUNDBITE: (Somali) Hawa Abdulle Hussein, VOX-POP: "We don't want foreign troops to be deployed in our land, foreigners have already colonised our people, they are illegally holding our husbands, we will fight those foreign troops, we want the Islamic courts to play a great role in the ruling of the country, because they pioneered peace." 6. Children shouting STORYLINE: Dozens of women and children held a protest on Thursday in Mogadishu against a deployment of foreign peacekeepers. The demonstrators burned tyres and shouted slogans in favour of the ousted Islamic Courts. One of the women demonstrating accused "foreigners" of "illegally holding our husbands" and credited the Islamic Court with being the only who have brought peace to the country. Factional violence has again become a feature of life in Mogadishu since last month when Somali government troops with crucial support from Ethiopian soldiers, tanks and war planes ousted the Islamic movement. On Wednesday , the African Union said three battalions of peacekeepers from Uganda and Nigeria were ready to be deployed in Somalia but according to Malawi President no formal decision has been taken yet.
