Worst Of Semiconductor Issue Behind Us, transition to EV Putting Cost Pressure: Hormazd Sorabjee

The worst of semiconductor shortage seems to be behind us, says Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India. Speaking to ETNOW, Sorabjee said that the semiconductor shortage was a chronic problem and not just in automobiles but across the electronic industry. He believes that it will take a while before the situation normalizes. According to him, Q1 of next year will be tricky and the situation will start improving thereafter. Going forward, we could see new launches getting delayed, he said. On the electric vehicle (EV) space, he believes that it is easy to raise money but not easy to make money as the transition from ICE to EV is putting a lot of cost pressure.
