However, once collected, the William Birkin G Monster crashes through the facility, and Umbrella Scientist Annette Birkin arrives to incapacitate it... but only for a moment. Leon prepares for a battle with its evolved third form. Once defeated, Leon rushes back to agent Ada Wong with the sample, and after a dramatic twist, a self-destruct sequence initiates to contain the resilient G Monster—it's still not dead! As Leon makes his escape, the Tyrant gives chase and mounts an attack in its newly-evolved form. After its defeat, Leon is reunited with Claire Redfield (she is playable in her own separate scenario) and Sherry Birkin.
