No matter how tired you are, may you never lose a grateful heart. “I hope that we never get tired of pursuing the life we always talk about having, no matter how hard and tiring it is, because when the time is right, we’ll look back and realise that every challenge was worth it.” Unknown. There will be days when even opening your eyes feels like too much when the heaviness hits you before your feet even touch the ground. Your mind’s a mess, thoughts racing in every direction, but you can’t find the right words to explain any of it. Still, you get up. You go through the motions, keep yourself from falling apart, and manage a smile when it’s expected of you because the world keeps spinning, even when you’re barely holding on. And then there are the quiet moments, the in-between spaces when you pause and wonder, does anyone even notice how hard this is for me? How much strength does it take to get through an ordinary day? Because sometimes, just surviving feels like the bravest thing you do. Maybe you’ve had those quiet breakdowns, the ones that happen when no one’s looking. In the corners of school/office bathrooms, during long tricycle or jeepney rides, on crowded trains where you stare out the window, hoping the tears don’t fall. Or maybe behind your bedroom door, where you tell yourself you’re just tired, even when you know it’s more than that. Perhaps you’ve thought about giving up not just on responsibilities or deadlines, but on the exhausting effort it takes to always appear strong, to hold it all together, to pretend you’re okay. If that feels familiar, I want you to know this: you are not alone. So many of us have carried that same heaviness. Too tired to explain ourselves, too worn out to be strong, yet still choosing to show up. Still trying, even when it feels like the smallest step forward takes everything you have. That quiet kind of perseverance? That’s strength too, the kind that doesn’t shout, but stays. And even when it doesn’t feel like it, it matters. You matter. Life isn’t always soft. It can be overwhelming, and it’s okay to say that out loud. You’re allowed to feel tired. You’re allowed to rest. You don’t need to pretend that it’s not heavy. But I hope that even in your hardest days, you don’t lose sight of the small, gentle things that are still good. A warm meal, your favourite food cooked just right. The soft nudge of a cat curling beside you, or the joyful bark of a dog greeting you at the door like you’re their whole world. The way trees sway gently when the wind passes through, or the feeling of the sun on your face during a quiet walk with nowhere urgent to be. A familiar voice that makes you feel safe. The sky is slowly turning orange and pink before it fades into the night. A kind word from a stranger that catches you off guard. That one song that somehow says everything you’ve been too tired to put into words. These aren’t small things. These are lifelines. Tiny reminders that the world still holds beauty, even when your heart feels heavy. You’ve probably had a thousand moments where giving up seemed easier. And maybe you came close. But you’re still here. And that says more about your strength than any loud victory ever could. You’ve already survived so many things you once thought you couldn’t. And slowly, gently, peace finds its way back to you. Not all at once, but in pieces like sunlight through the blinds. If you’re still in the middle of the mess, I hope you hold on. Not because life suddenly becomes perfect, but because something is still waiting for you. Someone out there needs your story. Someone is quietly praying for the kind of courage you already carry. Even when it feels like no one notices, know that Heaven is still clapping for you. Having a grateful heart doesn’t mean denying your pain. It means remembering that even in chaos, not everything is lost. There is still beauty, still kindness, still something worth waking up for. So please rest when you need to. Be gentle with your tired soul. And no matter how heavy life gets, may you never stop looking for the light. May you always notice the little things that are helping you hold on. Because those little things are not little at all. They are keeping you alive. And that is something to be proud of.
