Russia attacked Odesa city overnight on June 14 with Kalibr cruise missiles, Ukrainian military’s southern command said. According to preliminary information, two of the missiles were shot down by the city's air defences. Kyiv said a "fire was reported near a business centre and that the warehouse of a retail chain was hit" by the attack. Explosions were heard in Odesa at around 2:30 a.m. local time, after which fire and large amounts of smoke were reported. Ukraine’s military chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that his forces have seen “certain gains” in its offensive and are “moving forward”. He said he informed the US’ top General Mark Milley about the situation along the frontline in a phone call. Zelensky also hailed advances by Ukraine's troops near the long-besieged city of Bakhmut in the east and on the war's southern front.
