Understanding Immunotherapy and Colorectal Cancer (CRC)

Immunotherapy, also called immunology or immuno-oncology, uses the body's own immune system to fight off cancer and the spread of tumors. Immunotherapy is showing a lot of promise. Biomarker testing can tell you if current immunotherapies are an option for CRC patients. Watch as the following individuals explain biomarker testing, MSI status, CRC immunotherapies & the opportunities for more work to be done to impact a larger subset of patients. The video features: Dr. Tom Marsilje, stage IV survivor & cancer drug discovery scientist Dr. Dung Le, colorectal cancer physician and researcher at John Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Suzanne Yavor & the Cole family, financial supporters of Fight CRC's immunotherapy work Thank you to Merck Oncology. This video was made possible due to an unrestricted educational grant. Resources: 1. How to get biomarker testing & know your tumor type: http://fightcolorectalcancer.org/figh... 2.
