Prime Minister Theresa May called the snap poll hoping to emerge in a stronger position to negotiate with Europe, but the campaign has revealed that voters have other things in mind. Our reports and interviews with British MEPs show to what extent the UK remains divided over the Brexit question – even as more people accept it will happen, concerns remain about how it will impact the country. In the first part of the show, we meet Charles Tannock, a Conservative MEP, on the campaign trail in London. We also meet William Dartmouth, a UKIP MEP, and ask him about the future of his party now that it has reached its main goal. Our reports follow the main parties as they chase votes in Bristol and Walsall, as well as meeting with London’s European expats, who are worried about how Brexit will affect them.
