"Do not look away. You witness a king's revival. And the birth of his new world!" What's this, ANOTHER final boss vid from a Nintendo game? Despite not having super high expectations before this came out and expecting this to be BOTW 2 I didn't think this game would be THIS good. Definitely blows the first game out of the water in a lot of areas, ESPECIALLY WITH MY MANS HERE. Holy shit everything about this fight is amazing. The buildup for this Ganondorf, his samurai aesthetic, how vile and cocky he is, Matthew Mercer's performance as him, and the godlike ost which remixes almost all his major themes from the series for his phases. This might be my fav incarnation of the dark lord. But let's get to the fight. I wanted to do this fight with the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and the Champions equipment with no damage buffs from food, clothing, or weapons fusing. Then I wanted no damage all 3 Ganondorf phases in a row and it was really tough, the Demon Dragon portion is just a separate session since I got hit there unfortunately lol. First phase he fights a lot like the Phantom Ganons with a few new tricks, and I wanted to flex on his first phase with the weapon switching. Second phase then opens with HIM BREAKING THE HP BAR LMAO. But this phase is the most annoying since you could focus on the main one, but you could get clipped by one of the clones fighting the Sages. So I use a fused rocket to propel myself and use the slowmo to kill the at least 2 clones with Gidbo Bones since you get plenty of them from Gerudo Desert and they break easy, so these are the only exceptions I use for fusing. Could be better ways of doing it. Third phase is straight up the best fight in the game, this mans can FLURRY RUSH you if you attack carelessly anytime this entire fight, but this phase he can counter your flurry rush, but you can counter his back and it's so fucking hype. But what makes this phase amazing is the GLOOM PROJECTILE COUNTER WITH THE MASTER SWORD. So fucking good and the music syncs I have in this phase are too good. Demon Dragon is the spectacle fight of this game but so much better compared to the final boss in the first game fighting alongside the Light Dragon which is you-know-who, and this makes the game's logo make sense with Light Dragon v Demon Dragon, and a proper finishing blow akin to previous Ganondorf fights. Amazing sequel, 10/10 GOTY until either FF16 or Spidey 2 dethrone it lol.
