It will be the tenth major installment in the Resident Evil series, and the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It was announced at the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020 and is scheduled for release on May 7, 2021, for Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Resident Evil Village is set a few years after Resident Evil 7. Ethan Winters returns as the protagonist.
