Neptune (sometimes stylized as NepTune) is the codename for a canceled version of Microsoft Windows scheduled for release during the year 2000 Available build is build 5111 and based on Windows 2000 build 2128 but there is some evidence for other builds as well, mostly from file versions in various Windows Me builds. The project was worked on through most of the year 1999, until it was ultimately scrapped in January 2000(one month before Windows 2000 release) and ressemble to Whistler build 2202(also called as Windows 2000 build 2202) As mentioned at the start, this build is configured to hibernate by default. If ACPI is not supported or properly implemented on the (virtual) machine, the system state will still be saved, but a non-ACPI shutdown dialog will be displayed, telling you it's now safe to turn off your computer, resume screen in Neptune still back to boot screen. Login screen in Windows Neptune unlike Windows 2000,it functionally identical to the one introduced later in Windows XP.This same login screen was later used in Whistler build 2211 and build 2223, with a new Windows logo in the latter build. The power button in the bottom left corner will initiate a hibernation by default. To restart the computer, hold down the ⇧ Shift key before clicking the button. To fully shutdown the computer, hold down the Ctrl key before clicking the button. After shutdown, you will appear a safe to shutdown screen if your computer doesn’t have ACPI support, you will press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. This new screensaver first appeared in Windows Me build 2394 This build includes the "Configure my server" wizard (SRVWIZ.DLL) from Windows 2000 Server editions, which is rather unusual for home and professional editions(Neptune Server)currently Windows Neptune Server unleaked and will be canceled. This doesn’t have a boot screen. Startup and shutdown sound same as Windows 2000. Please subscribe to my channel to view my newest videos / @microsoft2003 #windows2000 #windowsxp #microsoftwindows #windows #neptune
