Winnipeg fire crews battle fire at furniture company on Nairn ave: At 2:25 am January 28/26, WFPS crews got reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 800 block of Nairn ave. When crews arrived they found heavy flames coming from the rear of the structure. Fire fighters used handlines and Ariel ladders to fight the fire from the outside due to it being unsafe to enter the building. Water to fight the fire has frozen and have created slippery conditions around the surrounding area. Public works crews were seen clearing drains and removing ice and snow from roadways and sidewalks. No injuries were reported. The fire was declared under control at 8:50 am. Nairn ave was closed from Chester st to Kent rd. It has since reopened. 📸 Catch something happening?
