Short N' Sweet - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a goddamn delightful puzzler that follows our hero who struggles with the concepts of running and jumping. He can fall on his enemies, throw turnips at them and beat the shit out them with a pickaxe. Each world is like a self-contained diorama with hidey holes with shiny riches to find. The game mechanics, both good and bad, are taken from Super Mario 3D World. The game makes use of the gamepad with the touchscreen, motion controls and even the microphone. Some of these controls feel overused or annoying to use and it’s irritating that they can’t be turned off. The puzzles aren’t super challenging, but enough so that finding all the collectables feels super rewarding.
