Following the events of the first season of Peacemaker (2022), Amanda Waller is no longer able to put human lives in jeopardy for her clandestine operations as she did with the Suicide Squad and Team Peacemaker. We’re in a completely new variant universe parallel to the old DCEU that ended with the second Aquaman movie. This means that, while this new universe shares a LOT of the same elements and events that happened in the old DCEU, there will be some slight variations in this timeline’s history as well as in some of the faces that may have appeared in the past. And to celebrate this new era of DC, the series starts with a brand new logo animation featuring a Golden Age Superman…as you can tell by the Yellow and Black shield at the center of his chest. Then Episode 1, titled “The Collywobbles”, starts with the exterior of the Belle Reeve Correctional Center…an exterior that we saw for the first time in 2021’s “The Suicide Squad” when Team 1 first assembled.
