Draw with me| 5 mistakes I made as a first year college student

Hey everyone! In today’s video, I’m sharing the 5 mistakes I made during my first year of college, so you don’t have to! Whether you're a new student or just looking to make the most of your university life, these tips will help you avoid the pitfalls I fell into. I’ll be covering everything from the importance of making notes, staying active, exploring clubs, why secondhand books are your best friend, and why participating in competitions matters more than you think! College life can be overwhelming, but learning from these experiences can help you set yourself up for success. Here’s a brief explanation of each point: 1. Making Notes: I relied too much on making my own notes, which made it time consuming and I was spending to much time.om irrelevant subjects. Although personalized notes help in quick revisions and deeper understanding, making notes for subjects like Chemistry, Physics when you don't need these subjects in future is a absolute waste of time. 2. Not Doing Physical Activities: I neglected physical health in my first year, focusing solely on academics. Regular exercise boosts energy levels and keeps you mentally sharp. It’s crucial for maintaining a balanced lifestyle in college. 3. Not Exploring Different Clubs: I missed out on joining various clubs and societies, limiting my exposure to new experiences. Clubs are great for networking, skill development, and exploring interests beyond academics. Don’t shy away from trying new things! 4. Not Using Secondhand Books: I wasted money on brand-new textbooks, not realizing secondhand ones were just as good. They’re more affordable, and sometimes come with helpful notes from previous owners. Plus, they’re eco-friendly! 5. Not Participating in Competitions: I didn’t take advantage of competitions to challenge myself and gain real-world experience. Competitions sharpen your skills and open up opportunities for internships and networking. Start early to make the most of them!
