CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Christopher Lee Cornell of Green Township was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 14, after being named in a federal complaint that alleges he was going to take weapons to Washington D.C. Local 12's Angenette Levy talked with the store manager at Point Blank Indoor Shooting Range and Gun Shop, John Deen. He said Cornell bought the weapons there. Deen cooperated with the FBI and sold two AR 15's along with some ammunition to Cornell. The incident was referred to as an "ISIS-inspired plot" and Deen said, "This was an FBI operation. We knew that we were cooperating with the authorities when we went through this and obviously the enormity of the situation was not known to us beforehand. And really it wasn't necessary for us to know." Deen told Local 12 News, "It's surprising to know just how big it really is." When asked if Cornell showed interest in any other type of weapon besides the two AR 15's Deen said, "No, he pretty much knew what he wanted when he came in, at least the style. And then we talked through what his options might be just as I would for any sale. And then he made up his mind and we started through the process of a successful sale."
