Calgary man charged with murder of his mother

Family and friends of a woman who was fatally shot on Thanksgiving Day are mourning her loss, as her son faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death. Lois Aileen Murray, 58, was discovered dead in the two-storey home she shared with her husband in the Ranchlands area on Ranchridge Drive N.W. at around 1:30 p.m. An autopsy revealed she died of a gunshot wound. Her son, 29-year-old Andrew Douglas Murray, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
