New Offbeat Destination in Sikkim - Phensang ☃️| Gangtok থেকে মাত্র 30 km দূরে North Sikkim এর পথে। Hello everyone, greetings from @travelplates Today we will be traveling to a completely different place, a small village in Sikkim, known as Phensang. Phensang hosts one of the most magnificent monasteries in Sikkim built in 1721. Phensang village is located 30 km away from Gangtok towards North Sikkim. This village houses just a few residents with only one homestay known as Kung Sa Lee Homestay run by Kee Sang and his family. Phensang village is mainly dominated by Lepcha and Bhutia communities. How to reach Phensang We boarded 22301 Howrah New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express. Howrah New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express departs Howrah railway station at 5:55 am. We booked a cab through an online app for INR 400/- and reached Howrah railway station. Howrah New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express has announced from platform no. 6 and the train departed 15 minutes later from Howrah railway station. The train fair is almost INR 1500/- approx per head including breakfast and lunch pre-GST. The train arrived at New Jalpaiguri Station at 2:00 pm which is almost half an hour late from its original time. This shared cab will take us from NJP to Gangtok. The driver was not at all suitable, he took almost six and a half hours to arrive Deorali taxi stand in Gangtok, Sikkim. While reaching Rangpo we called our homestay owner in Phensang to arrange a car for us and he helped us. We waited for 15 min for our next vehicle. At 8:45 pm, we were heading straight towards Phensang. Phensang being 30 km away from Gangtok on the North Sikkim road it requires some time. We reached Phensang around 9:45 pm. Tired and hungry we ate a beautiful lepcha dinner and went off to sleep. 🚗 Car Fare from Deorali Taxi Stand to Phensang ₹2000/- Normally it is ₹1000/- but as we were travelling late at night he charged us extra Kung Sa Lee Homestay (the only place to stay in Phensang) The next morning, we woke up early and took some time to soak in the beautiful Kung Sa Lee Homestay. Kung Sa Lee is a beautiful property with a humongous area. The entire space reflects sustainability and tradition. The entire property is located in between a forest. They harvest their food and serve their guests traditional Sikkiemese food completely farm fresh. They have cows, hens, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, a cat, and a dog named Rocky. The weather was cloudy and it was drizzling.
