Introduction to Inflammatory Response

An overview of the inflammatory response with definitions and general features of the process that's responsible for responding to infections and damaged tissue. Most people think of inflammation as a harmful response but it is actually protective and essential for survival. It serves to rid a person of both the initial cause of an injury (eg microbes, toxins) as well as the consequences of the injury (eg necrotic cells and tissue). Once eliminated, the body will progress towards controlling the inflammatory response and shifting its focus towards healing and returning to normal. ❤️ If you find my content helpful, become a channel member -    / @canadianpathassistant9066   WHO AM I: I'm a full time Pathologists' Assistant working in western Canada.
