COVID-19: UK records 1,041 deaths in a single day

The UK has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths during the second wave of the pandemic and the highest daily case rise. Another 1,041 people died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus, and there were 62,322 new cases.
