NCAA To Permit Student-Athletes To Profit From Image, Likeness A huge win for former UCLA Basketball Player Ed O’Bannon, LA Lakers Forward LeBron James, and California Governor Gavin Newsom and California State Senator Nancy Skinner, the Board of Governors of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) voted unanimously to allow student-athletes to make money from their image and likeness. That’s a huge win for women athletes who have thought of starting their own clothing brands. It’s a big win for women athletes who turned down modeling jobs because of NCAA rules.
